2011 Year in Review

2011 in Review:

Wow....in 2010 I got a call from Hollywood, which put me right in the middle of Augusta's Extreme Makeover Home Edition episode and ended the year on a high note. Scribbletime had an equally exciting year in 2011 and I can't wait to see what 2012 holds.

Not sure if it's hormones or just the start of a new year but I feel more humble and grateful at this point than at anytime in my entire life. I wish you the best that 2012 has to offer. For 2011, Scribbletime focused on giving back in 2011 and this has been one of the most personally rewarding things I could have done for my business.

Through Augusta Boudoir, I shot the "Doctors With Heart" calendar on location at MCG (Georgia Health Science...sorry, it will always be MCG to me). Money raised from calendar sales will go to benefit the Heart Association. I have to give full credit to Jessica V Photography for coordinating this great adventure and handing it over. Very trusting of her!!

Did you know the 2011 National Cycling Championship was held right here in Augusta, Georgia? Yes...the huge event was hosted by the Augusta Sports Council and held at Fort Gordon. Scribbletime served as a sponsor for Champions Made from Adversity for 2011, which is the reason I got to shoot the "para-nats" portion of the event.

CMFA also has Rugby, and the shot above is from one of the practice events for the Rolling Maddogs in Augusta. If you missed the post about CMFA's event over the summer, please read it here.

Scribbletime was also a team sponsor for the Martinez Evan's Little League again in 2011. I never did get a chance to photograph the little team I sponsored, but I did get to photograph some of the games during Betsy Bingo. If you missed out on seeing them and your little one played on Betsy Bingo day, please let me know which team because I might have some pictures.

Here are some more things that Scribbletime did in 2011....

  • Contributed a few hundred dollars for Breast Cancer Awareness during 2011 and will hopefully be able to sponsor a team again in 2012.
  • Scribbletime coordinated the first newborn photography workshop for other photographers in the Augusta area to learn how to safely do the cute little poses that we all love so much!! I really do hope to help bring a lot more learning opportunities to my peers in 2012 also!
  • OpLove: I did 3 OpLove sessions in 2011, which is super rewarding. For 2012 I am getting out of the organization. I will still support military families facing deployment by offering complimentary sessions, but I will have a little more flexibility to help on my own instead of tied to specific restrictions.

On the agenda for 2012:

  • Scribbletime will begin doing concept shoots in coordination with Illustrated Events. I'm looking forward to planning and dreaming to come up with fun themes for families to have a playdate of sorts with Scribbletime.
  • Cake smashes have been a huge hit this year, and Scribbletime babies who have cake smashes get a cute cake from Sweet Madness bakery (formerly Edible Artistry) located by Firehouse Subs at the intersection of Columbia Road and North Bel Air in Columbia County.
  • I am dedicated to helping women in the CSRA feel a little bit more confident and realize their true beauty. So did you know that Scribbletime has a sexy side? Yes, it's called Augusta Boudoir. I've got a separate website and more mature name for my boudoir work because I just want to keep the boobies separate from the babies! I have shaped the sexy side of my photography to cater to moms and women of all ages, shapes and sizes. REAL women who want to be transformed into supermodel material and go through a supermodel transformation inside too! The best part about it is that all this fun day away from reality is something the guys totally support, especially when it's a surprise gift for him!!
  • Helping others will continue to be a huge priority for 2012!!
  • I hope to second shoot some weddings during 2012. I assisted shooting my first wedding in 2011 and LOVED it. I have no desire to be a wedding photographer at this point, but I DO love a wedding!!! Oh and I can totally hook brides up with a sexy little black book to give to her groom on the wedding night. Yep!

Have a great 2012, and I look forward to seeing your cute little faces....
