Newborn Posing Class Coming to Augusta GA April 1, 2011

Yay! I'm so excited to announce that a Kyle Hitchcock of Middle Georgia will be presenting a Newborn Posing Workshop in the CSRA on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. We are very lucky to have Kyle give this workshop! (More about Kyle is at the end of this blog post)

About the class:

The cost is $275 per person, and there will be a limited number of participants. The morning of the workshop will include hands-on instruction with posing babies and utilizing various props essential to newborn posing. Kyle will also focus on hanging poses, so there will be lots of fun ideas coming from that angle as well! Kyle will discuss different camera settings and white balance. During this time, participants will get a chance to shoot the babies in various poses. After a 30 minute break for lunch, there will be time for Q&A discussion and then Kyle will cover editing during the remainder of the afternoon.

Sponsors have been donating lots of "goodies" so there will be fun door prizes for those who come! If you're looking for new resources to use to constantly help your businesses stay fresh and "updated", then this is the class for you. You'll go home with a list of places to go and find new ideas and new props for your business. This will not be like any other class you can go too, and Kyle's prayer is that this class will grow your business exponentially!

Workshop attendees will need to bring a DSLR and preferably a 50mm lens. A laptop to download and edit images would be helpful, but is not required. Workshop attendees will be provided with model releases to use the images as part of their portfolio, and also need to agree to provide each parent with 3-5 full resolution images from the workshop.

To register: Go to the Scribbletime website CONTACT PAGE and complete the Newborn Posing workshop contact form. A registration packet will be emailed to you within 24 hours, which will give instructions about payment, class location, what to bring, etc.

Please note: Your registration is not complete until payment has actually been received. After payment is received, you will receive a confirmation, which will secure your spot in the class. Once the maximum number of participants have paid, registration will be closed. Payment is due no later than March 11, 2011 but remember, your spot in the class is not secure until payment has been received (you will then receive a confirmation).

About Kyle:

Kyle Hitchcock has been a natural light photographer since 2007 and is blessed to work from a studio in her home. She feels so fortunate to be able to share a few tips that help work with newborns better. She has a BS degree from the University of Georgia and currently resides in Milledgeville, GA. She has been married for 8 years to her best friend Andrew, and they have two children...Abbie Kate is 5 and Canon is 4. This job began to supplement her real estate career and it became much larger than she could have ever imagined. She just feels very blessed to do something she enjoys so much!

P.S.....An investment!

We emphasize the word "investment" with photography all the time to our customers. Now we have an opportunity to invest in our own photography in a unique that will pay for itself because we'll end up producing higher quality images for our families.

Scribbletime coordinated this workshop to benefit local photographers. I knew if I was having a hard time finding a newborn posing class, then others were too. Last year I searched months for a newborn posing workshop that was within driving distance from Augusta, but no luck! All the classes I came across were too far away for a day's drive so I would have had to spend extra money on travel and a hotel. That's why I began searching for a qualified photographer who could actually come to Augusta to teach a class. That's how I found Kyle.

The goal is to see everyone's newborn photography improve...Augusta families deserve high quality and safe newborn photography!! My learning style is hands-on....just reading about how to do things isn't the same as actually learning hands-on how to do them. Hope you can attend!

Oh one more thing...
We have 1 confirmed baby to participate, and another possibility. However, babies come whenever they feel like it, so I am still on the lookout for a couple other babies who are due at the end of March. If you know someone who would like to volunteer their newborn for this workshop, please tell them to contact me:

  1. I know it could be tough since they are new borns not like adults to whom you can give instructions to.
