Golf Anyone? - Augusta, Georgia Golf Photographer

Babies and golf...those are my two favorite subjects to photograph!

So you can imagine how happy I was to cover the American Legion golf tournament this weekend. My husband loves to golf, and I've grown very fond of the sport myself. By the way, I have to brag on my hubby...he won a trophy last weekend at a -very small- tournament in South Georgia called the "Outhouse Invitational". He brought home an outhouse trophy! Okay, so it's not so glamorous....but I was very excited for him!!

I think one reason I like to photograph golf so much (especially Augusta golf tournaments) is because tournaments are events that can't be repeated exactly the same way. All the unique interactions that happen on the golf course are so much fun to capture. And rarely do golfers get to have nice shots of them actually in the middle of playing.

So, I feel like I'm part of something special. And this weekend's tournament was very special indeed because it was another opportunity for me to support our military and our veterans. My husband and I are in the process of becoming American Legion members, which most of you playing the tournament may not know! (I was Navy & my husband served in the Marine Corps)

I arrived before the sun came up, and there was such a buzz of activity. The American Legion members were busy getting everything set up, and I had some time to snap some shots before jumping on my golf cart to start the day.

Once the sun came up, the golfers began arriving and it was ON! I had a great time meeting every person who played in the tournament, and it was just a great thrill each time I snapped the shutter to capture a great shot. I could go on and on about how much I love to photograph golf, but I probably don't have to say it any more.

To the American Legion tournament players, your images are now available. If you have any questions, problems, or if you don't see something you're looking for, just shoot me an email. sharon@scribbletime.com

Thanks guys and gals for a fun day!
